Genesis

SENSOMETRICS Pty Ltd commenced operation in 1989, the brainchild of leading sensory researcher Dr Robert McBride.

Before SensoMetrics, Dr McBride had for 18 years been a sensory research scientist with CSIRO, Australia's premier scientific research organization.  During this time he conceived, developed and refined techniques in sensory evaluation and applied psychophysics; the establishment of SensoMetrics enabled these techniques to be successfully implemented in the marketplace.

The Sensometricians

SensoMetrics focuses primarily on consumer research and is psychophysical in its orientation.  Our researchers - the sensometricians - have expertise in experimental psychology and in product technology.  The psychophysical orientation differentiates SensoMetrics from most other types of consumer research (see Our Philosophy).

Operations and facilities

SensoMetrics conducts all components of research - client liaison, research design, respondent recruitment, fieldwork (see facilities), data entry & processing, analysis & interpretation, and presentation.  This ensures that the highest standards are maintained in all aspects of research methodology (see services).

With head offices in Sydney, Australia,and in Auckland, New Zealand, SensoMetrics conducts consumer sensory research throughout Australia and New Zealand, and internationally.
